The "BIG REVEAL"

Shea's dream has always been to have a bedroom with a window seat and her own bathroom. Well the personal bathroom is way down the road, but Greg decided to make one wish come true and for her birthday present this year we gave Shea's room a makeover. Greg and I stayed up until 3:00 am putting it all together and her reaction made it worth every minute! Shea on her newly painted bed holding the flowers that Grandpa B. and Nancy sent her for her birthday and to wish her well in her recital dance.

Notice what She's reading...Twilight :} I caved and decided to let her read it last night.

Happy 11th Birthday Shea!

Shea's birthday fell on the weekend of her dance recital this year and she decided not to have a big party but to have a sleepover with a couple of friends instead. The girls had a great time just being together and Shea was so excited to show them her new room

The cake was chocolate of course.

The girls played a few games. In this one they had 5 minutes to apply foundation, blush, eye shadow, lipstick, and mascara without a mirror.

Beautiful job girls.

Next they had 20 minutes to design an outfit out of newspapers, garbage bags, and duct tape.

The future fashion designers modeled their creations down the red carpet.

It's Arizona and really, really HOT so of course they had to take a dip in the pool!

Splash!

Last week Mom Tanner, Laura, and Kelsey popped in for a quick visit. Laura was hoping to meet with a team of specialists about her foot. Unfortunately there was a mix-up with the scheduling and the meeting didn't happen. It was extremely disappointing but Kelsey and the kids decided to make the most of things and have a little fun in the pool. The good news is that they might come back soon and maybe we can convince them to load up more grand kids in the car :} Hang in there Laura, we love you!

It's been a "WICKED" GREAT start to summer!

So much for lazy days of summer. We have had the opportunity to do some really fun things with friends and family. Greg surprised us with tickets to Wicked. It was WICKED AWESOME! We all loved it!

Danelle took the kids to the Arizona Puppet Theater and they saw "The tortoise and the Hair."

It was on Shea's birthday and Danelle was super sweet and bought Shea this puppet. He's a little scary looking to me but Shea thinks he's great and named him "Spotstanious"

We went to the Arizona Science Center and the kids had fun in the LEGO exhibit.

Margo and Shaun planning the castle of his dreams.

We learned a lot about the heart and body. There were viles displaying the amount of fat in some of our favorite foods. Apparently I'm lucky I'm still around after the 3 (yes, 3) Krispy Cream donuts I had Saturday morning.

The Royal Family. Master Brayden, Master Shane, Princess Shea, Princess Kelly, and Master Connor.

The kids tested their arm strength in the wheel chair races.

You're looking at a group of Scat experts. They scored 100% on the Scat test.

Connor and Shane practicing for our dream trip to Hawaii.

Master Lego builders.

Whipped Into Shape!

This year Shea decided to cut back and only take one dance class. She chose musical jazz theatre and they did a routine to "Whipped Into Shape" from Legally Blond 2. It was crazy seeing her in her 80's outfit. It brought back so many memories for me and seemed a little crazy that her "costume" resembled my every day attire in the good old High School days of the 80's. I can't help but wonder if that's how my parents feel about us dressing up like the 50's and 60's? I sent my mom a picture of her and she commented "Shea, you are your mother's daughter and remind me so much of her at that age." Maybe a little :}

Proud Mom!
(yes, I spent all of my time doing her hair and make-up and didn't have a chance to do mine)

She might dress like her mom, but she looks so much like her proud daddy!

Sisters.
OK, I wish but Addison's the next best thing. Thank you Kelly and Addison for being there!

Shea and Ms. Stephensen.
Ms. Stephensen was the best 4th grade teacher and really goes above and beyond to support her students! She has also become a treasured friend to our family and we LOVE her!

Practice makes perfect!
